Gleaming new maple floors installed

The pre-finished maple floors were installed Saturday.  The remaining items are few.  The sight of the new floor has sure received the WOW response from everyone taking a look this weekend---what a difference a floor makes!

Art & Music: Jazz-Funk

David Halliday (photo from the Park City Jazz Foundation)

Last night we went out to The Depot to hear Galactic, New Orleans jazz-funk band with special guests vocalist Cyril Neville (of the Neville Brothers) and Corey Henry (Rebirth Brass Band) with Orgone.  The place was jumpin' and our own local musician, David Halliday sat in with Galactic (having performed with them while living in New Orleans a few years back), and wowed our socks off with his saxy prowess.  :o)

When you wish upon a . . .

Hmmm...I didn't have a photo of a star, but I have this picture of my soon-to-be-hanging-over-the-breakfast-table crystal chandelier as this afternoon's light danced upon it.  But back to the thought...When you wish upon a star (chandelier or whatever), be sure and have a clear list of what it is you are dreaming of, because your wishes just may come true!

Like a new box of Crayolas!

I've mentioned before that I love this chair designed by Hans Wegner.  (previous post here)

Just received an email note that Room and Board is having a sale---The Hans Wegner event.  Not that I have it in my budget to purchase one of these chairs even with the discount.  But I wanted to take a look.  I was delighted to see all the new colors available for this classic chair of 1950's design!  I posted photos of most below, but I think I missed one.  You can take a look for yourself here.
Plum
White
Magnolia
Lilac
Kiwi
Grass
Juniper
Celery
Caspian blue
Caymen blue
Orange blue (just kidding, it's just plain Orange!)
Caribbean blue
Baltic blue
Crazy color love...I'm giddy!

A Peaceful Demonstration in Salt Lake City

at the federal court...
All photographs and the story are taken from the February 28 Salt Lake Tribune.  See more here.
(Al Hartmann | The Salt Lake Tribune) Tim DeChrisopher, left, and his lawyers Ron Yengich and Pat Shea step from the Federal Court Building in Salt Lake City on Monday, Feb. 28, looking across the street to where several hundred people were rallying for DeChristopher. DeChristopher is accused of winning bids on more than a dozen drilling parcels in Utah with no intention of paying the $1.8 million tab. He said he disrupted the auction to help thwart the global climate crisis.
